What should I expect to find below?

If you have reviewed the majority of this site then you should have a good understanding of the basic concepts of security. From here we will post useful links to various software and tools (many that are free.)

• Free online virus scan - Trend Micro offers the ability to remotely scan your computer for viruses and other pieces of malicious code for free. This is not intended to replace anti-virus software, but can be used if you notice any suspicious behavior on your computer.
• Rootkit detection & removal - Not all anti-virus solutions detect rootkits. Sophos offers a free tool which can be run on your computer to detect more complex threats.
• Spyware detection & removal - While many anti-virus vendors offer spyware detection and removal, Spybot has been dedicated to this task for many years and offers a free solution for personal use.
• Phishing protection - As previously mentioned on this site, McAfee offers a browser plug-in which analyzies websites as you visit them and detects suspicious or fraudulent sites.
